Paint correction
Paint correction is a process used to restore and improve the appearance of automotive paintwork by removing imperfections, defects, and blemishes. These imperfections can include swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, water spots, bird drop etching and other forms of paint damage. The goal of paint correction is to achieve a smoother, more uniform surface with enhanced gloss and clarity.
1-Stage Cut and Polish:
- Single-step process to remove light imperfections like swirl marks and enhance shine.
- Effective for minor surface flaws but may not address deeper scratches or oxidation.
2-Stage Cut and Polish:
- Involves two steps for moderate paint correction.
- First stage uses a heavier cutting compound to tackle deeper imperfections such oxidation and light scratches.
- Second stage refines the surface with a fine polish for enhanced gloss and clarity.
3-Stage Cut and Polish:
- Comprehensive process for heavily damaged or show-quality finishes.
- Utilizes three stages: heavy cutting, medium-grade Cutting, and fine finishing.
-3 Stage involves removing Deep scratches, removing hazing and any other paint defects that don’t exceed the clear coat.
Paint correction requires skill, expertise, and the use of proper tools and products to achieve optimal results. It is often performed by professional detailers or experienced enthusiasts who have the knowledge and equipment necessary to safely and effectively restore automotive paintwork.
